This Carbon Emissions Calculator is created by Pond Foundation, and is temporarily being hosted on my personal site.
Pond Foundation’s calculator generates a rough estimate of your lifetime carbon emissions to help you start your My Carbon Zero journey. You will calculate your lifetime emissions, and receive, via email, your Carbon Balance Sheet (CBS). For this, you’ll need a pen and paper, and around 10 minutes of your time.
The steps
These are the basic steps, we will take you through it in detail below.

Create your timeline
Here you will need to write down the countries you have lived in, and the number of years you lived in each place, since your birth.

Country emissions
The table below shows the average per capita CO2 emissions from countries (1960-2020), locate the countries you’ve lived in.

Fill out the calculator
Using the years from step 1, and emissions from step 2, input your data and choose a multiplication factor from your lifestyle.

Create your CBS
You’ll have your lifetime emissions now, input that into the form below. We will email you a copy of your Carbon Balance Sheet.
Time to calculate your emissions!
1. Write down, using a pen and paper, the countries in which you have lived, and the number of years you lived there.
2. Using the table below, find and write down the average per-capita emissions (tCO2e) for those countries.
3. You should now have written down the countries you have lived in, the period of stay, and the average per-capita emissions. Use this information to fill out the calculator below (along with an adjustment based on your lifestyle). This will show you an estimate of your lifetime emissions!

Please note that this is based on approximations, we see this as a starting point, therefore, getting the exact number is less important than what you’re about to do: embark on a journey of credible climate action.
We recommend doing this calculation yearly in order to stay up to date with your estimated emissions.
